If you’re curious about how I create the Beyond The Mind notes that I share, here are a few things that may be of interest:
The writing process
The notes have been produced by me asking questions and opening to loving energy beyond my mind to give me guidance. I automatic write what comes to me, allowing the words to flow onto the page/computer.
The notes are often written when I’ve needed guidance to help me see or think differently. And the guidance that appears tends to be not what my mind was expecting at all. It’s a beautiful practice of trust and flowing with the energy.
Where the words and energy come from depends on my intention when asking the questions. Sometimes I ask my Higher Self, sometimes I access the Akashic Records, sometimes a specific Spirit Guide will speak, but mainly I ask my mind to step aside and open my heart to whatever wishes to come into form.
It doesn’t really matter who or what is giving me the guidance (the whole aim is to not involve the ego mind after all), it’s more important to feel the truth than to attach to where it’s from. The main thing is that the energy and guidance is loving and supportive. Feel the love and truth for yourself. You’ll know truth when it ‘hits’ you, it’s one of the most incredible experiences. Not always easy to hear but always loving. And incredibly transformative if we listen to and follow the guidance.
I often cry when the energy pours through me onto the page. It’s pretty indescribable but the best way I can explain it is an internal knowing that this powerful grace and love is always available to us but we’re often closed off to it. When I allow it to pour through me the truth of that knowing always gets me right in my heart.
I open myself up as a channel and so my ‘flavour’ and understanding of the energy will be in the translation. While I do my best to interpret the energy there are times where it is difficult to translate the higher energy into words. You will likely find some very human and modern terms. That’s my translation. Which is why it’s important for you to FEEL for the truth, to determine what feels true to YOU.
– To give you an example, I have written “future-tripping” in this note. I know the energy that is trying to be translated but I haven’t been able to find the right words that will do it justice. I understand it as “future-tripping” but I know in truth there is a higher translation, one that I haven’t discovered (as yet!).
Tools that support the writing process
I love putting pen to paper, the romance of it, but I’ve found recently that I love to type the words directly onto a computer – particularly if it’s my Mac or MacBook (the vibration of Apple products feels lighter to me than other computers). I like the sound of the ‘tap tap’ of the keys as the words flow through my fingers.
I most often listen to Holosync while automatic writing (the sound of rain falling in the Immersion track soothes me and helps me focus). And sometimes Meditones – although I tend to keep Meditones for other writing activities, when I don’t need to be so focused. I love the Floating : Grounding tracks in particular.
I tend to write after a session at the gym (Pilates, TRX or Barre) or after a walk because I’m more likely to be in my body and not in my head. My happy place is sitting at the bench in my local cafe writing on my MacBook after an early morning session in the gym, pot of lemon and ginger tea to my right to sip on (between surges of inspiration pouring through me) – image on the left below.
At home I like to switch it up depending where the sunlight pours in the window and I’ll most always have a pot of tea (usually with one of my friend Elise’s Timeless Tea brews – because Tea With Soul says it all!) – middle image below.
And sometimes with wine (Barossa Shiraz / Chardonnay) because one or two sips of wine often pulls down whatever energetic walls/creative blocks I’ve unconsciously in place – and then I save the remainder of the glass as a celebration for overcoming those blocks after I’ve written something on the page – the image on the right below was taken in a wine bar while I was waiting to meet a friend for dinner. That’s when the idea of building this website came through onto the page!
“The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.” ~ Gloria Steinem or N.E.RD/Rihanna Lemon Lyrics
Yep, couldn’t agree more with this. The truth isn’t always easy to hear. The biggest shifts I’ve made have often come from a ‘swoosh’ of a sword of truth. The bigger the reaction, the bigger the opportunity to make a change. Don’t shoot the messenger 😉
Any grammatical errors in the notes are purely the result of me being in a flow state and not worrying about what comes onto the page/computer, it’s more about the energy and flowstate than the presentation. If there is an error and it bugs you, that too can open a doorway for you to explore – allowing yourself to be distracted from a simple error could be hiding you from something much deeper and beneficial!
